Caister showcases talented artists

An art exhibition and morning market showcased Caister residents' talents.

Artist, Milly Grafton with some of her paintings. Milly has been painting since she was five years old. "I used to get into trouble for painting on the walls, so I started to hide under my bed and paint the walls there!" she said.

CAISTER Lodge residents showed off their creative talents at an exhibition of arts and crafts which was held alongside a morning market last week

Last year the talented residents also put their work on display, but this year, organiser Cynthia Jones decided that not only would the work go on display, but it would be up for sale too. “It is so good that people who are retired are still interested and able to have a hobby that can bring in revenue for themselves or their favourite charity,” said Cynthia.

A small market was also held where residents could sell items such as baked goods and crafts, to help raise funds.

Judy Edgar (80) has been a collage artist for 40 years. “I will never give up, it’s something to keep the old girls going,” she said.
