One killed, five injured in city crash

A man was killed in a collision in the Durban CBD in the early hours of this morning.

ONE person was killed and five others injured after a serious collision at the intersection of Ordinance and Walnut Roads just after 1am on Sunday.

According to Garrith Jamieson, Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the two badly damaged vehicles in the junction.
“One male in his early twenties was found lying in the back seat of one of the vehicles. Paramedics assessed him but unfortunately he had sustained multiple injuries and had passed away before paramedics arrived. He was declared deceased on the scene,” said Jamieson.

A further five people from both vehicles suffered various injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals.

“At this stage the exact cause of the collision is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further,” he said.
