A MAN is in a serious condition after he sustained multiple gunshot wounds this morning.
While details are sketchy at this point, Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care said, paramedics arrived at the scene on the corner of Sydney Road and Rick Turner (Franscois) Road just after 10.30am and found that the 26-year-old patient had been taken to a nearby facility for stabilisation.
“Paramedics arrived and worked with the doctors and nurses before transferring the seriously injured man to a nearby hospital. The man had sustained multiple gunshot wounds,” said Jamieson.
Umbilo police communications officer, Captain Pumzile Makaula confirmed the shooting, however was not able to give Berea Mail details about the circumstances which led to the shooting as police officers were busy with their investigation at the scene.
