Love lights a candle

A special service to honour those with cancer will be held on 1 December.

ST Cyprians Anglican Church hosts its annual Love Lights a Candle service in support of the Cancer Association of South Africa, on Thursday 1 December, at 6.30pm.

This event honours people with cancer and through prayer and the lighting of candles, the congregants support those fighting the disease and remember those lost. Love Lights a Candle was begun 24 years ago by Fr Dane Elsworth and brings together the voices of the Durban Symphonic Choir, their musicians and the playing of St Cyprian’s organist, Errol Bristow.

The collection is donated to the CANSA Mkhuhla Care Home – the care and support wing of the Cancer Association of South Africa. Refreshments served afterwards at CANSA are donated by Queensmead Spar.

St Cyprians Anglican Church is at 619 Umbilo Road. Contact Linda Cipolla on 031 205 9525 for more details.
