Six injured in N2 multi-vehicle collision

Six people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on the N2 near Clare Road bridge last night.

SIX people were injured on Monday night after four vehicles collided on the N2 north bound near the Clare Road Bridge.

According to Rescue Care’s operations director, Garrith Jamieson, around 7.30pm, paramedics responded to a multiple vehicle pile-up on the N2 near Clare Road Bridge. “On arrival they found that three of the four lanes were obstructed by four vehicles that had been involved in the collision. A quick assessment found that six people had suffered various injuries. One patient sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised by Advanced Life Support paramedics on scene before being transported to hospital,” he said. The remaining five patients were also stabilised  before being transported to hospital.

“At this stage the exact cause of the collision is unknown, however it is alleged that one vehicle travelling south bound somehow veered out of control and went through the centre median colliding into three other vehicles. SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further,” Jamieson added.
