THE the Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Task Team arrested a man for possession of drugs in the Point area last week.
According to Colonel Thembeka Mbele, the 33-year-old man was arrested around 9.30pm on Thursday night and appeared at the Durban Magistrates Court on Friday.
“The officers acted on information about the man in possession of drugs in the Point area. They found the suspect in possession of 178 parcels of dagga and 178 tablets of ecstasy,” she explained.
Mbele said the total value of the recovered drugs was R12800.
KwaZulu-Natal acting provincial commissioner Major General Bheki Langa praised the team for ensuring the culprit was locked behind the bars. “The operations to clean up our streets of drugs will continue as part of our Festive Season Operations,” he said.
