Assistance needed in rape case

Durban Central FCS Unit is requesting help from the community to solve a rape case.

DURBAN Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual offences Unit is appealing to the community for assistance with regards to a case of rape they are investigating. 

According to SAPS provincial spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, it is alleged that on 30 May at about 8pm, a 24-year-old woman was walking along Centenary Road, Durban, when she was approached by two unknown men who were driving a white Polo Vivo with an unknown registration. 

“The men grabbed the victim  and pulled her inside the vehicle and drove to Point Road where the driver, with the assistance of the passenger, raped her. A case of rape was opened at Durban Central police station and the docket was transferred to Durban Central FCS Unit for further investigation,” said Gwala.

The police believe that the men they have identikits of can be of vital assistance in solving the case.
