Girls’ high top learners recognised

Durban Girls' High celebrated its top academic and sports learners.

ACADEMIC and sport achievers were recognised for their hard work at a ceremony at Durban Girls' High School recently.

Darshina Naidoo placed third in Grade 12, Akalka-Kiyoshi Dayaram received the Liane Mail Trophy for Proxime Accessit to Dux and while Dux, Maxine Khumalo, received the highest academic honour the Olcedor Shield.

Top prize winners at the school's sports awards ceremony were Paige Tancrel, Catherine Lafitte and Jade de Figueiredo, all representing South Africa in sport, as well as Sharmaine Mango and Snenjabulo Buthelezi, representing South Africa for Drummies.

Precious Mthembu (SA Spar Netball Protea) was the guest speaker at the awards ceremony.
