Bicycle ride raises thousands

A three-day bicycle ride across the province raised R150 000 for CHOC.

THE Cows raised R150 000 during their annual three day, 300km GABRAN (Great Annual Bicycle Ride Across Natal) for CHOC (Childhood Haematology and Oncology Clinics).

The GABRAN takes place in August annually and starts at the ATKV in Drakensville and sees cyclists making their way back to Hillcrest over the three days.

Overnight camping is the order of the day, with the first stop at Wagendrift Dam and the second night spent at Midmar Dam.

“This year was a cold and wet GABRAN, but it did not dampen our spirits. GABRAN is not a race – it is an experience!,” said The Cows Durban's Iris Varty. Next year’s event will be from 18 to 20 August. For further details, email durbsdaisy@thecows.co.za.
