Assist police in Point rape case

Police are appealing to the public to assist in finding a suspect wanted in connection with a Durban rape case.

DURBAN Central Family, Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offence Unit is appealing to the members of the community for assistance with a case of Rape they are investigating.

According to Constable Zanele Khomo, the crime related an incident during August 2012. “The victim, now 20 years old was at Point City Lodge when she was allegedly approached by her stepfather who then raped her. From that day the rape took place on several occasions even at home because the stepfather was staying with the victim and her mother who had no idea what was happening,” Khomo said.

Durban Central FCS believe the man in identikit can be of assistance in solving the case. “We believe that the man could be around the Umbilo and Berea areas. He was once a reservist in one of the police stations in Durban.
