Assist police in rape case

Assistance sought by Brighton Beach police to help solve a case of rape.

BRIGHTON Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is appealing to the community for assistance with a case of rape they are investigating.

It is alleged that on 8 September at about 11.30pm, a 29-year-old victim was standing with her friends at the South Coast Road, Clairwood when she was approached by an unknown man.

“At knife point the suspect threatened and forcefully dragged her to a secluded area in Jacobs road where he raped her. A case of rape was opened at Montclair police station” said Captain Nqobile Gwala.

The police believe the man they have in an identikit can be of vital assistance in solving the case. Anyone who might have information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the investigating officer Const Sthabile Mlaba on 078 231 6543 or 031 333 8224 or the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.
