Assistance needed to find parking lot baby’s parents

Durban Central SAPS Family, Violence, Child and Sexual Offence Unit is appeal to the community to assist with a case they are investigating relating to the baby abandoned at Musgrave Centre parking lot.

DURBAN Central SAPS Family, Violence, Child and Sexual Offence Unit is appealing to the community for assistance with a case of child abandonment they are investigating.

Constable Zanele Khomo at Durban Central police said a baby boy, who was approximately three days old was found abandoned at Musgrave Centre’s second level parking about 4pm on Tuesday, 16 August.

“The baby boy was found by a driver who then notified a security officer. He was wrapped in a white sheet and his mouth was wrapped with sellotape. The baby was placed in a place of safety. Anyone who can assist the police in tracking down the mother or family of the child is urged to contact Sergeant M Cele on 031 3254153/0786340200 or crime stop number 0860010111,” Khomo said.
