Taxi collides into street vendor

A street vendor was killed after an out of control taxi collided with her on Maydon Road near Che Guevara (Moore) Road yesterday.

According to Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care, paramedics and emergency services arrived to find “carnage”. “A vehicle had collided with the vendor before crashing through a wall. “Paramedics assessed the patient who had passed away due to her injuries before their arrival. There was nothing further that could be done for the patient and she was declared deceased on the scene,” he explained.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this stage.
