Get out and about in nature this weekend with Durban Ramblers Hiking Club.

GET outdoors and explore hiking trails with local hikers this weekend.

Durban Ramblers Hiking Club will hike at Monteseel on Saturday 24 September.

This is a different hike in the Monteseel area. Meet at 1.45pm at the Hacienda Pub (Lot 120, St Andries Street, Monteseel, Cato Ridge).

Hike down into the Monteseel valley along a new route.

Cost is R20 donation to the Monteseel conservancy.

Grade 3 (strenuous, vertigo warning), distance is ±7km.

On Sunday 25 September the group will hike Hammarsdale Falls.

This is a mix of rural tranquillity, various river crossings, a strenuous hill or two and bits of industry. Good view of the falls.

Meet at 8am at Union Main Centre, 45 Old Main Road, Pinetown or at 8.15am at Assagay Hotel parking and proceed to start of hike.

Petrol sharing R15.

Grade 3; distance is ±19km.

Amblers Hiking Club will hike the Umgeni River Trail from SPCA Springfield to Silver pipes at 2pm on 25 September.

Spectacular riverside, easy hike. Take binoculars to view birds.

Cost is a R20 entrance for car guards.
