Hunt Road closure chaos as water pipes get fixed

The intersection of Hunt and Che Guevara Roads was closed to fix a major leak on Friday, while the major leak was fixed, a smaller leak continues.

THE closure of Hunt Road and Che Guevara Road on Friday caused a stir among residents and motorists after it caused a major traffic congestion in Glenwood. The road was closed as workers fixed a major water leak.

The major leak was fixed however, residents noticed a smaller leak continued down Che Guevara Road close to where the pipes were replaced.

According to ward Councillor, Mmbatho Tembe, who has been liaising with the Water Department, they are aware of the leak and are trying to get it sorted and fixed by the end of the week. Tembe said some Glenwood residents would have also expereinced a power outage over the weekend due to a cable fault which had also been taken care of.

Residents can contact the ward councillor with service delivery issues on ward33@ethekwini.org.
