Taxi driver and conductor arrested for rape

Berea police arrested two men who allegedly raped two women in Berea on Saturday.

BEREA SAPS arrested a driver and his conductor for a case of rape, assault and robbery after two women were reportedly raped yesterday, Saturday 20 August.

According to Captain PN Naidoo from Berea SAPS, the two women had taken a taxi from the market and the driver drove to an area near DUT where he and the conducter allegedly raped and assaulted them.

“They were then dropped off and the women managed to contact police who opened a case. Officers proceeded to the rank at the market and found the two suspects. They were duly arrested,” he said.
The men are due in court soon.
