Support ‘wooly hat day’

HOLAH baby house is inviting the community to support its 2016 Wooly Hat Day, to help them keep the children and families of KZN warm.

During the week of 15 to 19 August, HOLAH's Project BOP – Bowl of Plenty – in conjunction with HOLAH Baby house is encouraging companies, individuals or schools to get involved in purchasing a hat, wearing that hat during the week, and then donating the hat to the NPO Likhon iThemba.

“If you are able to charge each person R5 to be able to participate in Wooly Hat Day that’s even better to help us raise much needed funds for the BOP and HOLAH projects. All hats will be distributed to the less fortunate, and money raised will be spent on the project, ensuring that every family we support have all their basic needs met to get through this chilly Durban winter. We also invite anyone that is interested to join us to distribute the hats,” said Leanne Lorrance from HOLAH.

She also encouraged knitters to get involved in knitting wooly hats for HOLAH to distribute.

“Wear a hat for the day, take pictures, and be sure to post them on our Facebook page. There will be prizes for the best pictures,” she said.

HOLAH staff will be available during the week of 15 to 19 August to visit workplaces, schools or events to talk about the work done at the baby house and the communities the NPO supports.
