Entrepreneurs – the solution to job shortages

Terry Rosenberg was the monthly guest speaker at the Durban Entrepreneurs Club.

THE Durban Entrepreneurs Club recently hosted one of KZN’s most successful Durban entrepreneurs, Terry Rosenberg, as its monthly guest speaker.

Terry is the Chairman of Oakbrook Holdings, an investment house with direct interests in oil refinery, facility site services, catering and property development. He is also Non-Executive Director of ten companies, including The Sharks rugby franchise.

“Lack of jobs is the biggest challenge in South Africa, and I see entrepreneurs as the solution to the problem. If we want to boost confidence in South Africa and the economy, we need to encourage entrepreneurship and clubs such as this one, which could make a significant impact in nurturing budding entrepreneurs,” said Terry.

He also suggested that the negative incidents that appear in the media on a regular basis do not give a fair reflection on exactly what is happening generally.

“You don’t always hear about the good that’s happening and the massive developments taking place on our doorstep. Don’t let the negatives impact on your life if you want to succeed in business,” he said.

The Durban Entrepreneurs Club was founded by young Durban Entrepreneur, Inspirational speaker and the owner of REMAX Panache, Grant Gavin at the end of 2015. It has grown considerably over the last nine months, with membership tripling since its inception.
