Assistance is being sought by Brighton Beach FCS to help solve a case of rape.

THE Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is appealing to the community for assistance with regards to a case of rape.

It is alleged that on 29 April, a 29-year-old woman was walking in the Jacobs area when she met a man who promised her a job in a company.

Captain Nqobile Gwala from SAPS, said: “He advised her to sit so that he could take all necessary information. They proceeded to a corner of the street near some bushes where he pushed her on the ground and raped her at knife point.”

He said the police were contacted and a case of rape was opened at Wentworth Police Station for further investigation. The docket was transferred to Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit. The police believe a man estimated to be in his sixties, well-built and of medium in height, who has a tooth missing, can be of assistance in solving the case.
