Calling all wheelchair-bound fisherfolk

Wheelchair-bound fisherfolk are invited to a fun day of fishing on 9 July.

RAMCAT Fishing is inviting wheelchair-bound men and women from all over KZN to join in on a fun day fishing event at the Naval Base Durban (Salisbury Island) on Saturday, 9 July from 7am to 3pm.

“This will be the ninth year that we have hosted wheelchair-bound fishermen and women. It’s a fun day outdoors doing something they love,” said organiser, Gerard Smal.

Participants must be accompanied by a helper and should bring their own rods. Breakfast and lunch will be served as well as juice and refreshments throughout the day.

Community members interested in helping out on the day are also welcome. The cost is R20 for the disabled and R50 for helpers. Children under the age of 12, R20.

Every fisherman or woman will go home with a prize.
