Students to raise awareness for CANSA

"Cancer has affected us individually and we want to be part of making a difference," Simone John.

SIX Public Relations second-year students from the Durban University of Technology will host a High Tea fundraising event for Cuppa for CANSA on Friday, 17 June.

As part of their assignment, the students had to choose a non-profit organisation to work with, come up with a way to raise funds and contribute to its successes. The event will be held at the West Park School hall from 6pm to 9pm and tickets are R150. Residents can support the event by buying tickets or sponsoring it.

Musicians and dancers will entertain guests, including SA’s got talent contestant Sifiso Boo Tse who will perform pop music and poetry. Motivational speaker, Cathy Turner, who is an educator at New Forest High School and Khanyisile Dladla, both of whom ar cancer survivors will also be in attendance.
