Great nurses awarded

Nurses at Life Entabeni Hospital were awarded as part of the Great 100 Nurses' Award ceremony last week.

LIFE Healthcare hospitals in KZN held a regional Great 100 Nurses’ Award ceremony where the top 14 Life Healthcare nurses in the province were recognised as nursing ambassadors for the company and the profession at large.

Annually, the awards are presented to the top 100 nurses in the company, at hospitals throughout South Africa. The award recognises nurses for transforming nursing care at the bedside and for striving towards the improvement of patient outcomes.

As recipients of the award, nurses commit to upholding the nursing profession at all times, striving for clinical excellence, maintaining integrity and confidentiality, acting as role models and leading nursing care.

Two of Life Healthcare’s top 100 nurses for 2016 are Sr Shammimah Samuel, unit manager from Surgical ICU and Sr Bongumusa Mlondo, registered nurse from the Surgical Ward at Life Entabeni Hospital, who were presented with the prestigious award.
