Young rugby talent needs your support

A Durban father is appealing to the public to help him raise funds to send his son on tour to Ireland.

ASANDA Kunene, along with four other Durban High School U16 rugby players, was recently selected for the 2016 Irish Express Invitational Rugby Tour after playing in the Glenwood rugby festival.

These players were invited to attend a nine-day touring experience to Dublin, Ireland, where teams will play in three match fixtures against local Dublin teams.

Set to take place in October this year during the school holidays, this invitational tour is being organised and managed by Travel and Sport, an internationally recognised tour operator in conjunction with Bizsport (pty) Ltd.

Each selected player will be taught skills from experienced and well-known coaches and experience international rugby first hand as a result of this tour.

Thulani Kunene, Asanda’s father, is appealing to the community to help him raise funds to cover the cost of the flights, accommodation and excursions, which will be around R30 000.

“Please invest in this young man who has potential to be a future South African rugby star. He is passionate about sport as he is gifted in both rugby and athletics,” he said.

The deposit of R7 500 needs to be paid by 31 May to secure participation in the tour.

If you would like to make a donation to assist, contact Thulani on 082 395 8979 or 031 311 3474.
