City response too slow, says resident

A Ninth Avenue resident is at his wits end with the slow arm of municipal service delivery in fixing a storm water drain cover on the road.

A NINTH Avenue resident is fed up with slow service delivery from the municipality.

Chutrapal Panday, a retired police sergeant, resident and supervisor at Beau Casa for the past 18 years, said he had made numerous attempts to get the municipality to fix a badly damaged storm water drain.

“A large van was illegally parked on the pavement and broke the drain when it came out. I have tried to get the municipality to put bollards along areas in Ninth Avenue because there are always people parking illegally on the pavements,” he said.

Panday said he was fed up with the slow service delivery adding, after waiting nearly nine months to have the Road's Department fix the stretch of the pavement running through the entrance to his flat, when new cables were laid in August last year, a local business had to eventually re-tar it.

Ward 27 Councillor, Martin Meyer said he had made numerous attempts about the various Roads Department related to issues along ninth Avenue.
