Assistance sought in rape case

Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is looking for a man they believe can help solve a rape case.

BRIGHTON Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is appealing to the community for assistance with regards to a case of rape they are investigating.

According to Major Thulani Zwane from SAPS, it is alleged on 21 April, a 25-year-old woman was visiting her friend in Cato Manor when they decided to go to a local tavern.

“While they were inside the tavern they were approached by three unknown men at gun point. They forced the victim out of the tavern, took her to a nearby bush and raped her. The police were contacted and a case of rape was opened at Cato Manor police station for further investigation,” he said. The docket was transferred to Brighton Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit where an investigation is currently underway. They believe the man in the identikit can be of assistance in solving the case. The suspect is approximately 27 years old, medium height and build, he is dark in complexion and has a scar on his nose, He was wearing a black and green coloured T-shirt and hat.
