No appeal for public funding, declares CPF

The Berea Community Police Forum want to notify the public that they do not endorse the community to donate funds into any individual account.

THE Berea Community Police Forum has issued a warning to the public that it would not request or endorse appeals to the community to donate any monies into an individual's account, especially if donations are requested on behalf of the CPF.

The Berea SAPS CPF Chair, Paul Antao said the CPF follows strict rules and protocols relating to the collection of funds (if any) which may include the use of a Section 21 company, bank account, which is audited and managed by at least three endorsed signatories and under instruction of the executive.

“The CPF currently does not request nor receive any monetary donations into bank accounts as it maintains a zero bank balance. Any individual found not abiding by CPF principles, or misusing the CPF name will be dealt with appropriately,” Antao said.

Antao encouraged the community to report any such occurrences to him on 083 3737 112.
