Happy baby J goes home to his forever family

A baby at HOLAH who was featured in Berea Mail recently, will join his 'forever family' this week.

HOLAH'S little super hero Baby J's has met his forever family.

The six-month-old Baby J stole the hearts of Berea Mail readers who rallied to donate a special formula after it was discovered that his body rejected a regular brand. Soon after donations started rolling in, Baby J was downing more than a 1000ml a day and developed into a strong, happy little baby who could hold his own bottle.

Leanne Lorrance from HOLAH said with Baby J turning six months old, it was time for him to start on baby food, but with an intolerance to dairy and soya, his paediatrician Dr Bisetty had him admitted to hospital so she could do a soya challenge on him. The aim was to introduce soya formula alongside his current formula, and increase it slowly.

“Within five days, he was completely on soya, and eating baby food and he tolerated it all like a champ! He was discharged with a clean bill of health and was a very happy boy – if not a little spoilt from all the attention and the extra love from the nurses and volunteers! Baby J was matched with his forever family last week, and will be leaving us this week,” said Leanne.

Leanne and co-founder, Kim Brown, thanked everyone for their love, support and donations of formula and finances.

“Your generosity has turned a sick boy into a healthy adorable little boy,” said Kim.
