Fourteen injured in crash

Four people were seriously injured when the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road into a tree.

FOURTEEN people were injured when a vehicle plowed into a tree in Alpine Road, Durban on Sunday evening.

Chris Botha from Netcare 911 said at around 7.16pm paramedics responded the the scene.

“The vehicle had overturned along Alpine Road. Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle veered off the road, hit a tree and then overturned. The twisted frame of the vehicle came to rest on its roof on the grass verge,” he said.

Botha said 14 people had been injured, four seriously, while 10 escaped with minor injuries.

Medics treated the injured at the scene before they transported them to various hospitals in the area for further care.
