UPDATE: Strike is over, say officials

ACCORDING to reports, the taxi protest is over and taxis will be operating today (Thursday, 31 March).

A meeting was held between the MEC and taxi operators yesterday morning, concluding around 11.30pm.

Santaco spokesman Boy Zondi confirmed taxi operators would be back to work today.
This was confirmed by KZN transport spokesman Kwanele Ncalane who said the meeting resolved that transport operations should resume.

Zondi said the 210 taxis impounded over the Easter weekend will be released at a reduced fine.
