Taxi protests force road closures

More news on road closures due to the taxi protest.

MOTORISTS are warned to avoid the N3 leaving Durban, as the route has been closed due to the taxi protest. Traffic in the Durban CBD has also come to a standstill while taxi operators engage in talks with Transport MEC Willies Mchunu over permits.

The road is also closed off at Canongate (Warwick). Motorists are urged to use Umgeni Road. Commuters are advised to make alternative travel arrangements as it is suspected that protests will continue tomorrow throughout the province.

Metro officers are out in force in the CBD monitoring traffic and protesters.
