Pedestrian hit by motorcycle

A woman has been taken to hospital after being knocked over by a motorcyclist in Windermere.

A WOMAN has been injured after being hit by a motorcycle at the intersection of Umgeni and Innes Roads in Windermere today (Tuesday, 29 March).

According to Netcare 911’s Chris Botha, at 9.19am Netcare 911 paramedics received a call for a pedestrian crash, with reports indicating that the woman tried to run across the roadway when she was hit by the motorcycle.

“Medics arrived at the scene and found that the woman had been flung onto the centre median with the impact. The biker was found a few meters away. Both sustained serious injuries,” said Botha.

He said medics treated the injured at the scene before they were transported to various hospitals in the area for further care.
