POLICE have shot and killed a man wanted for a spate of crimes in the Mpumalanga district of Durban in a shootout in the city centre on Thursday evening.
Provincial p0lice spokesman Major Thulani Zwane confirmed today that police had received information that the men responsible for the murder of a 40 year old man on Thursday afternoon had been spotted in the Durban CBD.
Police approached the vehicle with the two occupants in Margaret Mncadi Avenue when the two wanted men opened fire and the police retaliated.
One man was killed and the second arrested. Police also recovered two unlicensed firearms. The arrested suspect will appear in court on Tuesday.
