Medics given training

Netcare 911 paramedics joined the 15 Squadron for a training session.

NETCARE 911 paramedics joined 15 Squadron for a training session on helicopter safety and hoisting procedures last week.

After the pilot and engineer were satisfied that the staff was competent, they flew to Umhlanga Hospital in an Augusta 109. The medics were hoisted down to the ground one at a time and then hoisted back up to the helicopter before they flew back to the military base.

These training sessions are done on a regular basis to ensure that the pilots, engineers and the rescue paramedics are always operationally ready for any emergency that they might be faced with.
