Police recover body in Wilson’s Wharf canal

A case of murder is being investigated after a man's body was found by SAPS Search and Rescue divers at a canal in Wilson's Wharf over the weekend.

POLICE are investigating a case of murder after the body of a man was found in a Durban water canal over the weekend.

According to Lieutenant Nqobile Gwala, provincial police spokesperson, members of the SAPS Search and Rescue recovered the body of an unknown man on Sunday morning. “The man was found with penetrating wounds and fractures in the Harbour canal near Wilson’s Wharf. An intricate tyrolean rope system was set up to access and recover the victim,” she explained.

Gwala said a case of murder was opened at Maydon Wharf for investigation and at this stage no arrest has been made.
