New chair for uShaka board

A new chairman for uShaka Marine World's board of directors has been announced.

USHAKA Marine World is proud to announce that Pumla Mzizi was recently appointed chairman of its board.

She replaces Jacob Henry de Villiers Botha who was appointed to the uShaka Marine World Board in December 2001 and elected chairman in December 2013. Fellow directors and the management team at uShaka Marine World Management thanked the outgoing chairman for his commitment, support and guidance over the past two and a half years.

Mzizi brings with her considerable experience. She has chaired the Audit Committee at the Office of the Public Protector Audit Committee and has also served on a number of high profile auditing committees nationally. She was Deputy Chairperson of the Durban Marine Theme Park Ltd Board of Directors from 2013 to 2015.

She is currently the founder and a director of Jama Consulting and Projects which assists with integrated transport plans for municipalities, the formulation of operating licence strategies, risk management, financial and performance management, IT governance, internal audit quality reviews and governance.

Ms Mzizi graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BBusSci Finance Honours in 1992. Since then she has added a BCompt Honours CTA from UNISA in 1995 and a CA in 2000. She included a BCom Honours in Transport Economics (UNISA) in 2003 and is currently working towards an MCom in Transport Economics.

Throughout her career, she has filled top positions at ABSA Bank, the Road Accident Fund, the South African Post Office, South African Airways, Eskom, Spoornet, Vodacom, Nafcoc and Ernst & Young.
