Be alert when entering property, warns resident

A resident is warning others to always look behind their vehicles when entering their properties, following an incident last week.

BE ALERT when driving into building complexes. That’s the warning from a Berea resident who witnessed a man sneak into a secure complex as a resident of the high rise block drove into the property when the gates opened.

“I was waiting downstairs when a car drove through the gate of the building. I saw a man creeping inside the gate behind the car. He ran across the courtyard to the entrance of the building, and residents let him in, not knowing who he was,” she said.

She said she alerted security as she watched the man running from floor to floor’.

“He was smartly dressed and the least suspicious looking person. He was in his 50s, and was seen trying to gain access during the day to blocks in the South Ridge Road area,” she said.

The resident warned people to always look behind their vehicles when entering gates to their buildings, to ensure this didn’t happen again.
