Bisasar Road landfill site reaches capacity

The municipality urges people to dump at other landfill sites, as Bisasar Road landfill in Springfield has reached its full capacity.

THE Bisasar Road Landfill in Springfield has reached its full capacity and as from 18 January 2016, has been downscaled.

The site, which has been in operation for the past 35 years and has accepted more than 19 million tons of waste from throughout the eThekwini region, will no longer be open to commercial customers. However, it will still accept separately collected and clean garden refuse, cover materials and builders’ rubble, which are required in order to rehabilitate the site.

The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and urges all customers in future to dispose of their waste at North Buffelsdraai, West Mariannhill and Lovu landfill sites.
