Durban police recover counterfeit goods

Counterfeit goods have been recovered by Durban Flying Squad police and two suspects arrested.

TWO men,aged 34 and 36 were arrested this week in the Thengani area, Emanguzi,for being in possession of counterfeit goods.

Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Task Team police were undertaking operational duties in the area when they received information about a vehicle carrying counterfeit goods. The police spotted the vehicle with two occupants and stopped it. They asked to search the vehicle and found the sacks full of illicit goods.

Twenty three pairs of Nike takkies, 15 pairs of All Star takkies and 129 pairs of Adidas were recovered. The men were arrested and charged with possession of counterfeit goods. They appeared in the KwaNgwanase Magistrates’ Court.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended police on the arrest of the suspect and recovery of the counterfeit goods.
