THE tradition of giving has been carried through the years and made more evident during Christmas time.
Mr and Miss Umbilo 2015, Wandile Mhlongo ovela eLangeni and Andile Mncube uMaMzilankatha, have chosen to give of their time to newborn babies at the King Edward Hospital on 25 December.
In the true spirit of giving, they will not only give their time but they will be showering these babies with various gifts making their first day on earth a special one. They have organised a Christmas babies’ shower where they are working with churches like Umbilo Congregational Church, Umbilo Seventh Day Adventist as well a the local SuperSpar at Queensmead Mall.
The community is encouraged to support this initiative by either joining in on 25 December and taking a gift to King Edward Hospital, donating gifts relevant for newborn babies and their mothers or by donating cash to Mr and Miss Umbilo to assist in organising and buying more gifts.
