Taxi plunges onto N3

The driver of a taxi and the driver of a motor vehicle were lucky to escape with moderate injuries when they were involved in a collision on South Ridge Road.

A taxi travelling along South Ridge Road on Wednesday evening plunged through the barrier and landed on its roof on the N3 below. According to ER24 spokesperson, Chitra Bodasing, the taxi had collided with a motor vehicle on South Ridge Road.
The vehicle landed up against a traffic light on South Ridge Road. Both the driver of the taxi and the woman driver of the vehicle, were trapped in their respective vehicles and had to be extricated by Fire and Rescue Services.
They both suffered moderate injuries and were treated and transported to hospital.
It is not sure what the cause of the accident was. Police are investigating.

In another incident on Wednesday evening, a person was injured after a T Bone collision at the corner of Smith Street and Shepstone Road just after 6pm.

Rescue Care Paramedics  found that one of the drivers had sustained moderate injuries. He was stabilised on the scene before being transported to hospital.

It is unknown what led up the cause of the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
