What's on in and around Durban this week.

ENJOY festive season shopping at The Stables Lifestyle Market, 9 Jacko Jackson Drive, Durban, from 11 December to 3 January.

Good food, live entertainment and great shopping – an outing for the whole family.

In addition to the normal shopping hours on Wednesday and Friday 6pm to 10pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm, the market will be open for extra festive season shopping Monday to Saturday 5.30pm to 10pm and Sundays 10am to 7pm (excluding Christmas day).

Entrance is free.

UMBILO Congregational Church, 498 Bartle Road, Umbilo, will host a fleamarket this Saturday 12 December from 7am to noon.

The church has a table selling sweets and small Christmas cakes and there will be a white elephant stall and second hand bookshop.

THE South African Writers' Circle will meet on Saturday, 12 December at the Westville Library (Room G4) at 11am.

It will be a “bring and share” where those attending will read out their own work, sharing it with everyone. A literary quiz will follow. Visitors are very welcome.

FUN bowls for all at Stella Park Bowling Club's fun day on Saturday 12 December at 1.30am. Dress is as casual as you like but flat shoes is a must. Entrance fee R20. Bowls will be supplied if you don't have. Lots of prizes, including turkeys, to be won. Young and old, bowlers and non-bowlers are invited to join in the fun.

Visit the Speakeasy Toastmasters Club on the third Tuesday evening of the month, at 5.30pm for 6pm at the Glenwood Boys' High School.

NAZARETH House Charity Shop, 82 South Ridge Road, Berea is open daily Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 2.30pm.The charity shop raises much-needed funds for the home and needs the support of the

public.
