Point police ready for a safe holiday

Point police are being proactive with a series of vehicle check points ahead of the official festive season kick off.

THE men and women in blue at Point SAPS are all set for a safe holiday season and have planned random Vehicle Check Points (VCP's) ensuring safety even ahead of the holidays.

According to Captain Bheki Simelane, communications officer at Point SAPS, the vehicle check point (VCP) operation which began on Friday morning was held to ensure locals and early holiday makers are safe at the beach. “This is not a road block but a safety check for cars. We start before the busy season so people and motorists will ensure their car is roadworthy and safe over the festive season. Our members will check for drivers and car licences, car roadworthiness, and weapons,” he explained.
