Good arrests by security officers

Blue Security officers arrested three thieves and recovered stolen property.

BLUE Security armed response officers working together with residents arrested three alleged thieves and recovered stolen goods on the Berea last week.

Blue Security operations manger Brian Jackson said a suspect was arrested in Linden Road at 6.23am on Monday morning after he smashed a car window and fled with a pair of shoes.

“A resident in Halstead Gardens Road alerted two of our armed response officers to the incident and advised that the suspect was running along Cowey Road,” he said.

The officers gave chase and arrested the suspect in Linden Road and recovered a pair of shoes. He was handed over to the Berea SAPS.

Jackson said armed response officers had arrested two suspects in Adrain Road in Stamford Hill just after 6am on Thursday.

“A member of the public alerted our officers to two suspects who he had seen jumping out of a business premises with car tyre rims that they had placed into a green wheelie bin,” he said.

Officers investigated and found the two suspects pushing the bin on the corner of Sutton Crescent and Mathews Meyiwa (Stamford Hill) Road.

“They stopped the suspects and found the tyre rims covered in paper in the bin which the business owner later identified as his property,” he said.

Durban Central SAPS attended the scene of the arrests and the case was handed over to them.
