Man found in possession of heroin

A man has appeared in court after being arrested for being in possession of drugs.

Drugs recovered in the arrest of a 27-year-old man in the Durban CBD.

MEMBERS of the Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Task Team arrested a 27-year-old man for possession of drugs last week.

Police were following up information of drug dealing along Monty Naicker Road, Durban, and a suspect fitting the description was spotted and searched. He was found in possession of 101 loops of heroin and three bags of heroin, with the estimated value of R8 000. The suspect appeared in the Durban Magistrates’ Court for possession of drugs.

The KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lt Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni applauded the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the drugs.

“We will continue to work closely with our community and ensure that our society is free from drugs,” she said.
