A BIKER was killed in a collision with a car in Durban this afternoon.
According to Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care, paramedics were called to the scene at the corner of Ridge Road and Seaforth Avenue in Berea just about 12.30pm.
“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a vehicle and a bike had collided. They immediately assessed the biker, who was in his twenties, however he had unfortunately suffered severe injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do to assist him. He was declared dead on the scene,” explained Jamieson.
The driver of the vehicle had sustained minor injuries and was stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that she required.
Jamieson said it was unclear what caused the accident but SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
