A man driving a white BMW vehicle was killed on Saturday, 26 September, when he lost control of the car and drove on to the side of the road near the gates of Glenwood High School.
The accident happened around 3.pm and the cause of the crash is still not know since there was no other vehicle involved.
According to a fireman on the scene, the driver of the vehicle who was thought to have been the only occupant was ejected through his windscreen and had died of his injuries before the emergency services had arrived on the scene.
Another resident who witnessed the crash said it was fortunate that there were no school pupils nearby, otherwise the situation could have been worse. The witness went on to stress that speed bumps are a necessity in this area and locals have raised this issue many times before.
