Nurses collect items for pre-school

UKZN nursing management students held a community open day project at Claire Ellis Brown Pre-Primary.

A GROUP of Nursing Management students studying through UKZN donated a number of items to the Claire Ellis Brown Pre-School in Point on Friday, as part of a community project.

“This is a NGO school and currently caters for 65 children. We focused on children’s fine and gross motor development through arts and crafts, and sourced items as well as recycable goods through sponsorships and donations,” said Helen Best.

The students held an open day last week where they handed over all donations and enjoyed doing activities with the children.

Items included compost, toys, Xerox office equipment, paper, books, goodie bags and more. “We want to thank all our sponsors for making this possible and for helping to make a difference to the school and the children,” said Helen.

Sponsors were Charlene van den Bergh from Xerox Durban, Westville Girls' High School, Eagle Taxis, staff of Clicks at Windermere Centre, Mutual Curtain Centre and Blinds at Windermere Centre, Seapoint SuperSpa, Waste Centre, Moyra Woodcock, Mr Wise, Clint Ducie, Kim Ducie, Carol Bush, Pam Jooste, Mr and Mrs Timm, Ronel Booth and the UKZN students.
