Learn about model boating
Get down to the Model Yacht Pond and learn about this hobby this Sunday.
THE Durban Radio Boat Club is hosting an Open Day on the morning of Sunday 23 August at the Model Yacht Pond at Blue Lagoon from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
The intention is to get the various sections to display their diverse offerings together. These sections are Scale (scale replicas of real boats), Power (both nitro and electric) and Sail (Lasers and International One Meter).
There will be demonstrations in half hour slots, together with some commentary, so the public will be informed what goes into the hobby. This is also about growing the hobby and trying to generate new interest.
“Go down to the Model Yacht Pond at Blue Lagoon on Sunday morning and learn all about this fascinating hobby,” said Commodore, Peter Marklew.
