Cindy through to finals

Cindy Norcott, the founder of the Robin Hood Foundation, is hoping to be the national Lead SA Hero.

CHAIRLADY and founder of the Robin Hood Foundation, Cindy Norcott, is flying to Johannesburg this week, for the national 2015 Lead SA Awards and the announcement of Lead SA Hero 2015.

The winner of this prestigious national award will win R125 000 for their charity with another R125 000 going to the youth winner.

“I would like to thank our tireless supporters for voting for me in the competition. I realise that there are so many remarkable heroes in our country, making a huge difference in their communities. I am honoured that The Robin Hood Foundation has won the KZN title. The past ten years have literally been a decade of miracles and we have attracted the most amazing people – we have a wonderful co-ordinator, Kim, a deeply passionate team of trustees and committee members and an enthusiastic, hard-working team of volunteers,” she said.

Cindy thanked all the private individuals, schools, community organisations and companies that support the organisation in so many ways.

“The Robin Hood principle is simple – we perform random acts of kindness every week and our goal is to distribute extra resources from those with excess to those in need in order to make a positive difference in our country. I thank everyone for their support, not just with the voting, but for the prayers, encouragement, and practical resources that have kept us going for ten years, and counting!” she said.
