Cardboard boat race back with fun, thrills and spills

The Cardboard boat race, is one of fun highlights of the Durban International Boat and Lifestyle Show this weekend.

THE 12th edition of the prestigious Durban International Boat & Lifestyle Show kicks off this weekend, 17 to 19 July at the Durban Marina.

South Africa’s biggest boating and outdoor lifestyle event on and around water, will see the return of the cardboard boat race where participants race boats that they have constructed from cardboard and duct tape only.

This year the event is sponsored by Pack Now, owner of the Durban company Justin Blake, said, “We believe that the Durban Boat and Lifestyle Show adds enormous benefit to Durban and we are proud to be associated with this event.”

“This is an awesome event for the whole family,” says Barry Meehan, one of the directors of the Boat Show, “and this year there are brilliant prizes up for grabs.” Pack Now will be giving free boxes to entrants on presentation of the completed Cardboard Boat Entry Form.
